Is a solution of NaHCO3 and Na2CO3 a buffer solution? The answer is yes.

Then we have to explain using chemical equations:

NaHCO3 +H20--> H3O+ +Na2CO3

I dont know if that is correct.

Any solution of a weak acid and its conjugate base is a buffer solution. (HCO3)- is a weak acid, and (CO3)2- is its conjugate base.

(HCO3)- + H2O ---> H3O+ + (CO3)2-.

Leave the sodium out of it.
