Because, unfortunately, the people who go around boasting White Pride are the ones that are Nazi's or Klan members 99% of the time. They have socially linked racism and intolerance to pride in their race.
On a side note, personally I don't care what people think. I'm white, not a white supremacist, and I have PRIDE tattooed across my stomach. I grew up as one of a small handful of white kids in an all "minority" neighborhood/city. I was one of the only whites that didn't go all hip-hop and "wigger." I just 'kept it real' acted normal and did my own thing. For that reason, and that reason alone, I gained everyones respect for not being fake and never really had any problems with the other races like the other "minority whites" did. I know several Blacks and Latinos who have seen my PRIDE tattoo and never had any problem with it or with me. Its all in who you are and how you present yourself. Have a little self pride and F anyone who has a problem with it.

I agree with you, but I can also see why "White Pride" would be something that people do not want to hear. The KKK shows how dangerous whites can be when they believe that they are better than others. Black pride is more acceptable in my own opinion, because the African American race as a whole has been through so much. Many other races have, too, in their own way. Whites do of course have things to be proud of, but how many hardships have whites - especially in current America - had to go through? Not as many, to a certain extent. So us white people as a whole don't necessarily have as much of a reason to stick together, and try to be proud of ourselves, because we really don't have anyone, or any history, holding us back from anything. I think that white pride is more of a subtle, unmentioned thing that is there, but isn't as necessarily advertised to the whole world in our words, but more in our actions and the way we treat others.

Past indifferences have made "White Pride" a hatred and racial statement, that makes people invision cultural division. This is a a very sad thing. I am proud to be American, and I am also proud of my heritage.
Yet being white doesnt enter into my thought process, maybe it should I dont know.
I know that my family came from Europe to this country and we have been here ever since. But in the end we here are all americans and should be proud of that one fact, because we do have a great nation.

Pride is not a Nation, it is not skin colour. Pride is usually a celebration of what one's ancestors have accomplished all throughout history. As well as ourselves. To celebrate what we successfully contributed to society and the difference we made for the good of mankind. I have pride in my work. I am proud to be who I am, proud of my culture, our ways, traditions. The same applies to any nation because what all nations are is unique. And that is the foundation in which we build our pride on. I have pride in my people because they have got me thus far.
We all have something to share of our cultures and contributions. It is permissable to be proud of who we are and what we represent from the day we are born. To boast of pride simply because we think of ourselves as a superior race is not pride but merely egoism which will be our undoing. Again, Pride is more of an accomplishment of one's own past demonstrated by our ancestors. So take pride in that and know that's it's o.k to be proud of your origin. Just don't rub it in anyone's face and become an ego, testical.

Because the people who shout "white pride" usually say "blacks out" in the next breath. We've made a bad reputation for ourselves over the years and we are paying the price for it now.
The pride for the minorities has been needed in order to give themselves a voice in the world that is ruled by the oppresive majority.
Of course you can be proud of your work, of your life, of your country. Why do you want to shout about it?

I think the reason why people get suspicious when someone says " yay! White pride" is because the first people to use that were wearing white hood sheets, burning crosses and lynching a couple of "minorities" on their way to "boast" about their race....
Just a thought.

Caucasians (mostly European descent) have been blamed for all the social ills of the last 600 years (sometimes deservedly and sometimes not). Due to that blame, there has been an effort to raise the esteem of those who were dominated by Caucasians. Many think lowering Caucasians was the way raise the others.
Due to such a history and praise of white people is construed as Neo-Nazi-ism or a longing to return to racial oppression.

I've thought about that too...I think it's OK to be prideful no matter who you are...I think white pride is often associated with the KKK who have performed hate crimes and that might be why people cringe when they hear "white pride" Other than that...I don't see a problem with anybody being proud of who they are.

Because no one else is usually proud of them, they feel like they are persecuted. So in order to make themselves feel better about something they cannot change, they fake a 'pride' in what they are.
"If you are so proud of Mexico, why do you keep sneaking over here?"
Just the way it goes with 'minorities' when they live in a world they feel doesn't respect them. When you are the majority, your numbers speak for you instead of against you.

Good question. I'd say though, most white people who do claim to have "white pride" are generally, racists.
I know that's not all white people, but generally.
