Is this the most depressing news to come out over the weekend? and why are we obsessed with reality/celebrity programmes?

dissapointing to say the least. i cannot stand watching reality tv though as to why people are obsessed with them, the people who'd watch them would say it is down to personal choice. but i for one detest shows like big brother and x factor

I really don't see what the big deal is. If you don't like reality TV, do something else. Heres a radical idea - why don't you just switch the f***ing thing off and do something else?
Some people are obsessed with the reality TV as its a form of escapism, bubble gum for the brain, something to giggle/get angry/annoyed about but without it being enough of a serious issue to worry or get anxious about.
People like different things. Personally I'm not keen on sports like football, rugby etc but I don't get mad about it when theres nothing but sport on the TV on Saturdays - I just DO SOMETHING ELSE.

I don't see why, it should have been canceled a long time ago. I say this as I got so tired of it just after the first few episodes.

It does not bother me as I only watched one episode once and was bored to tears, I have never watched it since and have no intention of watching it in the future

I loved Big Brother when it first came on telly. I think its run its course now. The producers should now we have seen it all now.
