I have now close to 100 SPAM addresses blocked, yet I still receive about the same number daily. I note the same SPAMs are being sent under different addresses after I had them blocked earlier. It seems the Spamers just use new addresses to continue sending their stuff!!

There is nothing that requires an email address to be from a legit email provider like Yahoo, AOL, GMail or others. As long as an email address is in the correct format, any, made up, email address can be used.

Spam blocking software that was effective a little as a year ago is almost useless today. The spammers have many new methods and it will only get worse.

The Federal Trade Commission has much information about spam and how the spammers work. It also provides many tip on techniques to reduce your chances of receiving spam.

The Yahoo Mail Plus has a program called AddressGuard that does much to reduce the spam you receive through the use of disposable email addresses. This Yahoo site explains it better than I can:

Yes in most cases, but if when sending on emails, remove the address of those that sent to you and put your name in -From:
and sender 'Undisclosed Recipient' that way if all do this little thing then there would not be so many people able to access your email address therefore elimiating a large majority of spam.
