I've got a month to go travelling during August this year. Was thinking of India, Sri lanka, Nepal, Indonesia, but really up for anywhere. I can cope with reasonably high temperatures, but as we're only going to be away for a month I don't really want to be too uncomfortable. Any ideas? It seems like it will be pretty hard to aviod the monsoon.

Very, very hot those places that time of year. If you have no problem coping with 40 degree LOWS and 95% humidity then go for it. Why not do an overland trip through China, Mongolia and Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway?

Why not pick a few places in the US ? This is a huge country and we have so much to see.
Try Alaska, Hawaii or the pacific northwest. Pick places you've never been to before.
