Why is it that American Civil Liberties Union is willing to defend the civil rights of minorities including neo-nazi's and other groups who could give a damn about civil liberties but refuse to defend honest, hard working types? Why does the ACLU constantly harp on the constitutionality issue of separation of church and state when there is nothing in the US Constitution about seperation of church and state?

Because they have not had to live in the sections of town the others of us have had to. They also, unlike me, are not capable of changing their idealist vision for world peace and leveling wealth (that I had as a youth) after realizing it is a crock of crud that has never worked and never will - in essence, they are like lemmings.
They are apologists for the Civil War among other things and want to "dis" the white establishment - to make those belonging to its majority viewpoint have as few rights as anyone else. And they are open-minded, allowing the Atheists to run this country and dis-empower the Christians, practically making it a crime for the U.S. military in Iraq to even bow their heads in prayer while protecting (I'm not sure why) those sorry liberal as s es when these self-appointed demi-gods running our lives would be better served living in Siberia to see how Communists really treat each other in real life. There is no separation of church and state in the Consitution. It was in Jefferson's mind and never intended to allow for any particular sect to be the official Church, much like the Lutherans in Norway still are today. It was never intended for people to dis-respect or doubt God; Franklin prayed to Almighty God to end logjams in the numerous debates of the Continental Congress. All these modern-day atheists would have you believe that only the most hightly respected intellectual Atheists have the truth - I think moral equivalency is the tool of the Devil - there IS no equivalence to our fine heritage in the history of the world, blemishes included.
Seriously, this ACLU thing will fall apart when they argue a case that totally backfires on them at some point in the future, probably by protecting a pedophile or a terrorist's rights or some such drivel. I personally can hardly wait for it to happen. Let's just say that if there were an "ACLU" statue like there had been of Saddam Hussein, I personally would want to be there to kick it down once their ruthless, Communistic, Atheistic, Anti-Constitutional gang of traitors is seen for the devils that they really are.

Roger Baldwin wanted us to be a communist country, he founded the ACLU in 1920. The ACLU has nothing to do with defending Americans civil liberties.

One can think of the law as an abstraction, or as a practical tool. In the abstract, the ACLU pretty well always has a valid point, no matter your view of its position as a practical matter.
Now, with that in mind, consider the phrase, "dreamy-eyed pragmatist." Sort of grates on the sensibilities, doesn't it? So there is a natural selection process involved.

The ACLU has been SO "hypocritical" as to not only defend the civil liberties of liberals, but also the civil liberties of extreme right wingers and Nazis, (see yourself in that mirror??), who themselves do not believe in civil liberties. Civil liberties get tested by people who the mainstream society considers the "other". Society wins, for the most part, when they are upheld in favor of the "other". Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!

who else would they hire? how about when the republican area of New hampshire had their houses taken from them for Immanant domain they didnt get a post card but a couple of homeless people in nevada get their boxes taken away that by the way was on PRIVATE property ACLU went running to champion the homeless.
