Zippo lighters need a to be full of fluid and have enough flint to make them work. Sometimes you need to trim or replace the wick aswell. If you aren't getting a spark then you need to repace the flint. Any store that sells Zippos should have all the replacement stuff and its pretty inexpensive. Many larger pharmacies, grocery stores and smoke shops have Zippo stuff.

This link shows how to care/ trouble shoot your lighter http://www.zippoclick.com/careAndCleaning/howToCareForYourZippo.aspx

Also most stores will let you look at the instructions that come with the lighters (usually in the back of the black plastic cases they are sold in . . .)

Hope that helps -- oh and if you have zippo lighter fluid on hand, it's great for getting the sticky/ gummy stuff left over from price tags etc off of surfaces . . .

Contact Zippo and explain this to them. They will have you mail it to them and they will repair/rebuild it for no cost.
