Dolphin babies are born live, not layed like an egg.... their mother needs to push them to the surface of the water so they can breathe.

They give live birth. The babies are born tail-first!
One or two other dolphins attend the birth, and when the baby is free of the mother, they'll lift/guide the baby to the surface of the water to breathe.
