Every computer connected to the Internet has a unique identifier called an IP address. On many networks, the IP address of a computer is always the same. On other networks, a random IP address is assigned each time a computer connects to the network. This is what we are referring to when we ask if you have a static or a dynamic IP address. If a system uses dynamic addressing, the IP can change quite often.

To connect your Airwatch System to the Internet, you need to make sure your computer can accept incoming data from the Internet. You can use the traceroute link below to see if your computer is behind a "firewall." The screen will show all the hops across the internet to your computer. If the hops stop at an IP address other than your computer's IP, you may be behind a firewall or proxy server.

You will have to type ipconfig in the command prompt.
To go to command prompt, click on Start -> Run. In the window type cmd and hit Enter. This opens the Command Window.
Type ipconfig/all for more details.
Static IP address is one which stays constant, Dynamic IP address changes every now and then, either your router/switch does it or your ISP.

Open Control Panel. Double-click the Network icon. Right-click the active connection and select 'Properties' from the context menu. If you have a static IP, it will be right there.
