Do you think this is a much more natural balance for a relationship than a purely 1 to 1 set up. After all men seem to have twice the sexual appetite of women so would this not be the perfect solution ?

Nah, I think that they key is finding someone who matches your sexual appetite. If you get hooked up with someone who is on a completely different sheet of music as far as sex drive goes, then you are asking for trouble. It will be doomed and it will never work.

First of all, in my experience, I've almost always had more appetite than my men, so your ratio is horribly off.

Secondly, it's really not a natural balance; while by the time we reach older adulthood, women outnumber men, more male children are born than female children, so if anything, the numbers are skewed favoring women having more men. In addition, the species has not only continued because it used to be one man to ten women - before monogamy, it was each person for him or herself, and there was both polygamy and polyandry.

Also, there are societies where people are perfectly happy today where both polygamy polyandry take place - for example, there is one society where the men travel around as individuals, and if a woman accepts one, she takes him into her house for as long as SHE wants, and when she's done with him, signals for him to leave by moving his belongings away from her front door. Then she chooses the next man she wants to stay with her.

Any balance is strictly going to depend on what's acceptable for all parties involved. Personally, if any man of mine ever said something resembling your question to me, he'd have more new bruises than he could count, and would certainly be down a few hours a week of extremely pleasurable sex. At the same time, I'm sure there are women (and men) out there who would love to share their partner with another member of the same sex, and possibly even want to join in...

That is so niave it is comical. If you were old enough you'd already know that by 40 the ratio is completely opposite. What is sad is that our society is so narrow minded that 1:1 is the only acceptable ratio. If people are happy, what difference does it make. The only reason we exist as a species is because at one time it was 1 man to 10 women.

If you can't satisfy one woman you're sure as hell not going to satisfy two. And I havn't met many men who could keep two women happy. So, more or less you're asking if it's ok for men to be selfish inconsiderate juveniles.

In which case the answer is "no". You're not a boy anymore, so get over your delusions of grandeur and realize that the world doesn't evolve around you. Or guys in general.

i think there is a balance, just the matter of finding someone on ur same level. So many people have found the total opposite of themselves and that is what causes so many problems.

I had found a match to my appetite, but we are no longer together and he was the closest to me. Other men are good, but not up to my standards as far as stamina and variety...

Most of the women I know have as much, if not more sexual appetite than men. Your are prob. not satisfying your women enough so she doesn't want to have sex with you. Or, maybe she has someone on the side.

No, because sex was created by God to be between a husband and wife, meaning 1 man and 1 woman.

Sounds more like a fantasy american men have....or if you prefer, go live in a country where polygamy is accepted....b/c here in america...we have trouble keeping a relationship between one man and one woman together...add another woman...and you get a whole other heep of problems
