Ever since the Bratz dolls came out, Barbie sales have gone way down. However, Barbie came out with MyScene dolls which are similar to the fashion of Bratz, but not as trashy looking. I definately would go for Barbies, plus Mattel is bigger, so there are more accessories and such to play with.

The reason why Bratz have gone far is because they show a different, more intense side of style that Barbie only comes near every blue moon.
I choose Barbie because she is indeed a far better character that normally seems to convey a happy, well educated, life rich with love, understanding and charity.. the downside? She's a total prep. Her fashions have been rendered boring by the entrance of the more "alternative" looks into mainstream fashion. Mattel desperately needs to get with it, and not just with the MyScene dolls. Classic Barbie needs an upgrade in style.
The Bratz show great edgy style, but all appear to be a lot of Paris Hiltonesque characters with OVER-stylized bodies that I -personally- don't care for at all.

Barbie.
She has more dignity, morals, and values. The Bratz dolls look like hookers, and they seem more obsessed with boys, makeup, and parties.
At least you can buy Teacher Barbie, Doctor Barbie, even President Barbie. For a child, those are good aspirations.
You can't find a decent Bratz doll. There are no appropriate clothes for them, no alternatives to the "lounge party set" or "juice bar set" and even the Babiez look like trailor hoes. BABIES!
Barbie has much better accesories, like a real home, not a "party pad".

Barbie- I don't like the "attitude" the bratz dolls convey. Barbie is much more stylish.

barbies r known more but bratz are for hiphop kinda girls i would choose bratz

although barbie is the traditional doll that has been adored by mant generations of girls the brats dolls have come on strong and are a good competition for barbie however i think personaly barbie wins all the time.

I probably wouldn't choose either one ... I didn't like Barbie for my daughter ... too "sexy" for a little girl, and my d-i-l doesn't like Bratz for her daughter ... too "whatever"

barbie....with those big lips on those brats dolls even on the baby brats it looks like botox gone hay-wire
