I use the portable heaters that look like the old time radiators that are oil filed. I ALWAYS make sure there isn't anything near it that would get hot and burn. It's better to not have anything near it. NEVER leave any heater unattened. You can leave the room sometimes but I wouldn't run one all night while you were sleeping, it's VERY dangerous. Better safe than sorry. Run the heater until the room is warm, then turn off heater and wrap up good and turn it back on in the morning.

The ones that are oil filled, are safe.

What it comes to models that has that fan..they are not. You see, the fan makes the warmer shake (wery little), and it tends to change direction round itself,

Now if you have 2000 watt blower, that has accidentally during your sleep, moved to blow for example towards or next to thin curtains, and they are sucked to the fan that blows them against the redhot ironwires inside the heater.....you might have the whole house on fire in a minutes.

Stick with the warmers without fan, and youll be ok :)

they are only as safe as the person using them if you have alot of common sense and dont put it close to materials that could catch a fire or next to flameable containers or aerosol cans and make sure u have high enough electrical outet to where is is able to let the heater pull enough juice and not let the cord get hot use ur best judgment keep an eye on it remember it is a responsibility to have one

Yes, they are quite safe as long as you keep plenty of space between them and the wall and there is nothing flammable near them.

almost all heaters are safe. they all have mercury off switches to turn off if tipped over also circuit breakers built in to turn off in case of overheating etc.
