Because of curiosity! Why would you post a question like that?
Of course people are going to read it. Thank you for the points.

The human mind. It rejects being told not to do something. It is inquisitive. It wants to know exactly what it is missing so that it can decide for itself whether it should follow the command not to do something, by which time it has done what it shouldn't have.
Just like the famous "Don't look now but behind you theres this gorgeous hunk staring at you..."

Okay, didn't - but don't have much to offer in way of an answer... maybe I'll have a quick read now I've answered...NO I WON'T - you gave one simple instruction - "Don't read the question" and I'm not so stupid that I can't follow one simple instruction.

Bye.

See ya.

Under no circumstances must read any further than the word STOP!......
But I bet you do! It's human nature, we don't generally like it when others tell us what to do and that's the whole point. Someone says no and a little voice somewhere inside says "up yours I'll do as I please!"

People don't hear the "don't". It starts at an early age - people tell their children stuff like: "Don't touch the fire", and then wonder why they do.

Besides, if you try to eliminate negating words from your vocabulary, then you will feel better, and people will do what you tell them :-D

Because it's natural human curiosity. If we weren't curious, we would never learn anything, which means we wouldn't have fire, the wheel or even tools.

When somebody sees "don't touch" don't open" there has to be a reason to why it says not to and people these days are just curious to know that reason

It appeared under questions - to be read. If it had appeared under 'Commands' then doubtless everyone would have obeyed and the second line would have been forever a mystery.
