you have to show them that you are responsible enough to take care of one. they don't want to have to do all the work because you got tired of taking care of it ! Good grades - yes, keep up on your houselhold chores, offer to walk neighbors dogs (dogs need walked every day), price out the cost of food, vet bills for shots, bed, toys, collar and leash, dog food dishes, toys and all the things you would need to raise a dog, and also the cost of obedience training. be ready to commit because it IS a commitment.

I definately agree with "bunnbunn". Be extra good so that your parents can't use bad behavior against you (looking at that, I think I need to follow my own advice!). Go on the internet and research dogs, give the good things and the bad things (are there any?) just to be fair. Go for articles that praise dogs in different ways that your parents might not think of. Turn it into a report of sorts! I really wish you luck.

I know how you feel I want a dog sooooooooooooooooooooooo bad!!! I can't even begin to explain it. I have tried a number of things. But try to be good. Mention how life would be with a dog. Get good grades and be really good at home. Don't slack off and help out. Exspecially around christmas time.... You never what Santa Might bring you........:)

Start with a goldfish.. if you can take care of it for 6 months or more, you'll be on your way to showign them your'e responsible. Clean the tank once a week, feed it every day... then work up to a small bird or gerbil, then maybe they'll trust you with a dog.
