Not taking them will not hurt your baby...but they will help your baby if you do take them.
Usually doctors wait until 20 weeks to do an ultrasound unless something is wrong or suspected to be wrong.
Yes that bubbling feeling is your baby!

Congrats and good luck hun!

The bubbly feling probably is the baby, it feels like little gas bubbles that dont move around you belly like they ought, or like butter fly wings fluttering.

They should have your quad screening and check up ultrasound between now and 20 weeks, and you will tell what you're having then.

As far as the prenatals, your baby needs them the most before you even know you're pregnant, and again between 8-12 weeks, thats when the embryo uses the most folic acid and minerals.

Right now calcium and the right amount of iron are very important. if you cant handle your prenatals (they make a lot of pregnant women sick or constipated) try a flinstones with iron, the dose is so low it shouldnt stop you up.

You can also take a regular multi vitamin if you cant handle the prenatal.

YES! Not taking Prenatal can harm your baby and YOU! The prenatal are there to provide extra vitamins in your body. These vitamins are what help the baby develop and help your body adjust to the changes, One major complications that my friend experienced from not taking her vitamins was that her iron level was low and she lost an extreme amount of blood. Had she took the vitamins she would not have had to get a transfusion. Another thing that happen was that the baby did not get enough iron and now has a deficiency in her body which has caused brain delays. So take the vitamins! If they cause you constipation (a common complaint) ask about vitamins with a stool softener. Plus the vitamins help make your hair and nails grown and protect against birth defects. As for the sex of the baby.....it can be as early as 4 months but it all depends on the baby. The baby can turn and cross their legs and you will not be able to see the organs. As for feeling the moving........not sure if you could feel it this far along. Congratulations and Good Luck!

Like the other posters said, prenatal vitamins are meant to fill the gaps on vitamins and nutrients that you are not getting. They also have folic acid in them which helps prevent nero tube defects like spinal bifida. If you decide not to take them then you should incorporate things like spinach in your diet so you're not lacking vital nutrients to you and your baby. The baby will take what it needs from you. It's you that might actually suffer in the long run.

Prenatal vitamins are prescribed or recommended because they help round out a diet that may be lacking. Folic Acid, if you're not getting enough in your regular diet is supposed to be crucial for preventing neural tube defects in your baby. You should take the vitamins, but no one is going to monitor you and force them down your throat. And if you're starting to feel fluttering then your little bean is probably starting move around in a way that's noticeable to you!

While the baby is forming in the mother's womb, it takes from the mother all it needs through the umbilical cord. If the mother does not eat right, or doesn't take in enough food to supply her and the baby's needs everyday, the baby will take what it needs from the mother...that is, from the mother's source of vitamins and minerals, fluids and other vital nutrients needed to form itself.

These elements, if not taken in daily by the mother in her food, water, daily vitamins, etc., are found in her skeletal system and flesh, or muscles, and the baby will draw what it needs from there. Sometimes a mother is lacking in those basic needs herself, in which case the baby may suffer deformities of some kind, or be weak, or have poor development.

SO...the answer to your question is YES, YES, YES! It can and probably will hurt you and the baby if you don't take your prenatal vitamins. Folic acid is one of the most needed elements to a forming baby. You should not only take your vitamins, you should eat well...no junk food, empty calories, like candy and sodas, etc. Try to eat fresh fruit and vegetables, lean meats, fish, milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. Don't overdo the fats and refined carbohydrates, like sugar and white flour. Eat whole grains whenever possible. Exercise, like walking, is good too. Be good to yourself and you'll have a healthy baby. BEST WISHES!!!

Well I don't take my Vitamins either.i just couldn't get into a routine of taking them,I would always forget. My daughter came out as healthy as ever. You usually find out what the baby is between 18 and 20 weeks. The bubbling feeling could be the baby moving.Mine kinda felt like butterflys. It is always fun to think it's him/her anyways....Hope it helped.Good luck!

It won't hurt the baby, but I would suggest you go back on them in order to help the growth of your babies development.
As for finding out what you are having, i found out at 16 weeks.
And yes that is your baby moving!!!

Of course it can hurt the baby if you don't take the vitamins, What are you thinking don't you want a strong healthy baby. Do you want one that may have birth defects or that is mentally challenged that will never be able to take care of itself? Why do you care what you are having if you are not willing to take care if it. Start taking them every day

100 years ago they did not have them and it was very common for babys and mothers to die during the birth. Modern medicine has come a long way so why would a women not make sure to take advantage of it and make sure her child has the best chance in life right from the start

okay first of all you need to go to the doctors.. very important.. and second, it might cause your baby to have spina bifida if you dont take your prenatels but other than that, your baby will get all her/his nutrients from you..

let me put it like this ... if you dont have enough calcium.. your baby will take if from your body.. sounds like a no problem type of deal but check this out..

by taking calium from you, your teeth start to rot, and your bones get weaker.. and the teeth rotting is no joke, ask any women who didnt take her prenatels what happened to her her teeth,
i bet you 1million dollars she said she had cavities. and not just a little.. ALOT.

and about how far along you have to be.. anywhere from 18-19 weeks.. and then your babys p[rivate parts should be formed
