This particular movie isn't 'recent' - and despite being filmed in France in 1976 (and with no French dialogue - all English, I'm afraid!), it is a pure classic...Polanski's The Tenant.
Watch with awe!

Yeah, there are some great French films out there. The obvious Amelie, which is a great movie. Luc Besson directs quite a few good French films too, such as Nikita which is well worth watching. There are the more violent ones such as Blaise Moi and irreversible, not my cup of tea, but interesting in their own right. For cinematography and style I would recommend "Brotherhood of the Wolf" (Les pacte des Loupes) and also more recently in a style remeniscent of SIn City there is Renaisence. Then there is the wonderful Delicatessen with its Vegetarian Freedom-Fighters which I thought was a wonderful and amusing concept. Go out and enjoy, there lots of good films from the Continent that are well worth a watch and sure beat some of the tat that comes out of hollywood.

There are only 2 French films i would recommend, they are Taxi and Taxi 2... Absolutely brilliant films... Funny with wicked car chases... You get used to the subtitles after a while coz the films are so good!
They made an American version of Taxi with Queen Latiffa and it's shite.

I watched 2 other French films because i had to review them, Baise Moi and Irreversible... Very harsh nasty films that are quite good but very violent... I wouldn't recommend watching those unless you aren't easily offended and can stomach extreme violence.

Nikita Is another great French film... Which was remade with Bridgette Fonda as Assassin but no where near as good as the original.

But i would definitely watch Taxi 1 & 2... I'm sure you would like them :)

Of course! The best French film I've seen is Amélie (or Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain). It is a great film about a introvert looking to relate to society, and win over her true love.
I don't think that there are any specific websites for French films, but apparently some other French classics are Jean De Florette, Manon Des Sources and general films with/by Claude Chabrol and Gerard Dépardieu. (Not too good with the acteurs or directeurs!)
Regardez-les! (Watch them!)

If you find a few cool sites with french films, you can use Google's language preferences to translate the site into English.
Here's how you do it:
Go to www.google.com
to the right of the search bar, click the preferences tab
click "search for pages written in any language"
scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "save preferences"
When you use google as a search engine and type in "french films" all sites will be translated into English for you.

Enjoy.
I like French films as well!

Some cable networks like Sundance and IFC sometimes show recent French movies.

Netflix also has recent French movies.

Yes, I do. Try visiting http://www.bestfrenchfilms.com. Some of my favorite, more recent, French films include Amelie and Au Revoir Les Enfants.

I liked Amilie and Delicatessen. La Belle et La Bete was great but from the silver screen era.
