They do!!!
Its what they do for each other that shows they care but they dont feel the need to say it and hugging might be taken the wrong way!!
They dont openly show affection to mums or sisters either in their teens as that would be seen as Soppy by mates!
Men show affection to men & women as befits the relationship and what they think is expected of them!
Years of being conditioned not to show their feelings openly are very hard to put aside!

Guys are way phobic about being called "gay". I think it would be cool if straight guys would hug and be affectionate to their friends like girls do.
