Both were ahead of their time creatively and innovative. Both are genius inclined...a wee strange but awesome players!

Could be. Tough to compare...

Hendrix was certainly experimental, but did stray into normal blues/rock stuff frequently.

Claypool seems more abstract and experimental to me. Could just be the span of time.

I enjoyed his book, though. You can tell he's into fishing.
