My 5-year-old sister keeps complaining that her eyes hurt. She said this once yesterday, and this afternoon she was whining alot and kept complaining about her eyes. Around 4:00 she fell asleep but woke up again at 5 whining again. Any advice?

Maybe sinus congestion, I know because I am suffering with it right now. It can be cause by allergies, dust, pollen, molds, grass, tree, etc. Allergies also cause sinus congestion, which can cause painful, watery eyes.

You should check with her doctor ASAP.
Eye is an very important organ and can get injured very easily. Some foreign particles may get into her eye and causes pain. Do not use eye drop or water to flush it out. You may end up getting the particle deeper into other area of the eye.
Take her to the doctor NOW.

She's 5 years old. Please, take her to a doctor. Preferably an eye doctor. She may have gotten something in her eye and her cornea may be scratched. Only an eye doctor will be able to see this. Don't fool around with something like this. Take your sister to an eye doctor.

Wash her eyes out to make sure nothing is in it or go to a doctor to see if she may have pink eye

Maybe she is suffering eye strain because she needs glasses. You should take her to the doctor or optician to be on the safe side.
