G'day Talwar007,
Thank you for your question.
Australia has been the pioneer of cricket coaching and they have been the most successful team over the past decade. For those reason, a number of teams including India have picked Australian coaches. Australia generally has been a pioneer in sports science and so Australian coaches have a strong background in that with the cricket institute and the institute of sport generally.
If an Indian player had suitable credentials, I am sure that the Indian board would pick them. However, it isn't unusual for teams to have coaches from another country. The most successful Australian soccer coach was Guus Hiddink while England were coached by a Swede.
India has great potential and they need the best coach possible to ensure that the team plays as well as they can. Whether Greg Chappell is the best coach available is not for me to say but if he isn't, his race and nationality isn't the reason.
Seasons regards

This is a fact that we have not been able to get a good Indian coach. There are some great and good players who would have made good coaches but they opted for more glamorous professions such as become commentators in the media or it was their personal choice not to become coaches. Having said that I do believe that becoming a coach is a full time profession and guys from Australia, New Zealand have taken it up as their profession and when the team is winning the coach looks good and vice versa when they are not. Colour has no role to play.Best man to take up job gets the job.

Almost all countries have foreign coach irrespective of the fact that the had great players. For example, West Indies have greats like Garry Sobers, Vivian Richards, Clive Lloyd etc. Pakistan have great players like Imran Khan nad Wasim Akram.
Still they have foreign coaches. Coaches are appointed based on their professional skill of coaching and not by the colour of their skin.
