I'm reading all sorts of articles and i can not pin point what really started everything.

China doesn't have the same free speech we enjoy so when a bunch of students over there tried to have a friendly demonstration to try and get that free speech they were made an example of by the Chinese government.

The democracy movement went beyond what the government was prepared to tolerate.

But in simple terms, probably Spartacus and Li Bai were the root cause.
