All seriousness aside, it makes playing games fun. Not only will you get to play the new Wii games, but you'll be able to play nearly every single Nintendo game ever made, via the GameCube disc bay and controller slots and the Virtual Console menu. On top of this, you can use a Virtual Console control (which looks like a SNES control with more buttons) for its games! Being an avid gamer myself, I'd get a Wii just to play the old Nintendo classics like Super Metroid.
Retro gaming aside, I'd even go so far as to say I'd buy this if Metroid Prime 3 was the only game to ever come out for the Wii. You won't just press buttons on a control, you'll point, shake, turn, and lift it for each different game that utilizes it. I can't imagine how refreshing it must feel to finally be able to aim Link's bow with my whole arm, and not just a joystick, in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Awesome.

Since the other channels aren't up yet, I won't say anything about them. But one nice thing I'm using my Wii for this Christmas is the photo slideshow. I got pictures of winter landscapes and decorations, and holiday music on an SD card that I will be playing on my 52" TV before and during dinner to set the mood. :-)

Well if you're into it, you can download old Nintendo [and other] games.
Also, the Wii Channels are interesting.
They're not all implemented as of yet but you WILL be able to do things like surf the net [without hacking it], get news feeds, check weather [sure], and other things not yet announced. You can also play around and check out your digital camera photos.

Well, there's a lot.
It can go on the Internet, its wireless, you can download games, it uses a sensor bar, its $350 less than PS3 and its easier to find than PS3!It can also play Gamecube games, load Camera and Cellphone pictures, and saves Wii games into the console itself!
And its backwards compatible, uses wireless internet (wi-fi) and can detect the Wiimote's signals from as far as two houses away!

No, you could in elementary words use a recreation dice controller for recreation dice video games, because it has buttons the classic controller doesn't. although, recreation dice controllers must be picked up for type of £5/$10 at an section recreation save or someplace like Amazon. wish this enables, Tom.
