We are both very mature. We have been together for about 6 or 7 months and we actually just had our first kiss(like 3 weeks ago) because I told him I wanted to take it pretty slow.He respects me for wanting to wait and said he would wait however long I wanted. He has never pressured me.I think he's just one of the few guys left that actually cares about me and doesn't just want sex.

it is not about dating at the age of 19. It is about sex for most men of any age. I highly dought he will stay with you for two more years if you don't give it up.

Here is my opinion, and it may be viewed as double standard, but my boyfriend and I are 20 and 24. The first time we were together he was 16 and I was 20. For some reason, this is viewed as okay, while the guy being older isnt. I think it is more a question of maturity instead of age. If they are close in maturity level, etc then i think it is fine.

Nothing wrong. . . just on different planets. A 19 yo is out of HS and in college or in a career already. That alone puts him in a different class with much different ideas on life. The 16yo is still dealing w/HS and graduating. The crowd she hangs around is NOT thinking about a career or college (for the most part). The 2 ages have MAJOR different goals in life and those goals conflict. That is just reality. A college kid and a high school kid do NOT work unless they started dating in HS and are about 1 yr in age apart. Sorry. . . it's the truth.

People automatically assume that the man is only after 1 thing, and get what he wants and leave her.
Personally, I think that age is a number that doesn't matter at the end of the day.

It is ok to date but he is an adult and he knows the "game" and he knows how to play it well. So you have to be careful and make sure people know where yall are and what yall are doing which will show people that you are mature enough to handle a relationship with an adult.

That completely depends on your state laws. Here in Ohio, there is nothing wrong or illegal about it. I was 17 and my fiance was 20 when we started dating...4 years ago.
