Jenny is normally the shortened version of Jennifer - Janet will normally get Jan.

Janet's a nice name.

Jenny is short for Jennifer, not Janet - but both are lovely. Why not use Jenny as a middle name then you can use either and she can choose herself when she's older. Both my mum and grandmother were known by their middle names

It's cute, but I'm not getting the Janet/Jenny correlation. Jenette or Janette seem more like Jenny. It's pretty though.

Honestly honey: When I say Janet I think of my grandmom who's name is Janet.. but I do love the meaning "Gods Gift" and I do like it when old names are brought back.. besides if you like it that's all that matters.

You mean well, BUT, "janet" is so "old-fashion" for this day & age. As for the nick-name.....JENNY-JANET???? what's up with that? I'm not trying to be rude..... It just doesn't sound right together.
How'bout.... Jayney? Sort-of both names in-one?

I have an auntie called Janet and my sister Vanessa has Janet as a middle name (after my auntie). Anyway it is a cool name as it reminds me of two cool relatives of mine.

Janet's a nice name, I'd go with it as long as your surname's not Catchfish.
