yes, and it is awful. People need to stop worrying about their weight and need to just make sure they are healthy.

Yes, i think that the media is a bad influence on girls' body mass. Not everyone can look like Tyra Banks and be almost six feet or whatever. You can still achieve goals you set for yourself that are possible and reasonable and will not hurt you in a bad manor. If you want to shave off some pounds of weight, dont try and shave them off by not eating food. This will only decrease your metabolism. The next time you go back to your normal dieting, you will be gaining weight faster. The best advice i can give is to go and excercise. If you dont want to excericise on your own, then find a buddy or whatever. The more people you get involved in positive things, the better you make the world.

It comes from the fact that the US of A is the fattest country out of them all! I am sure you are referring to women wanting to be more 'beautiful' and not being able to love and accept themselves just the way they are.... but there are also many women out there that are "obsessed" with losing the fat because they want to be healthy and live a healther lifestyle. They know that being over weight can lead to heart disease and many other debilitating factors and they don't want that to happen to them. If you would take notice...there are many men out there that view both of these views the same as women do. Most women know that they do not need to look like a runway model, as they are too skinny. However, many women do not wish to be overweight...this does not mean they want to be stick thin, but healthy and in shape.

Oh my goodness, yes. There is no way a women can be that thin and lead a normal life. I think we should all be health conscious, stay fit and eat healthy, exercise and eat in moderation, and don't overindulge in anything, but goodness-gracious, 84 pounds on a grown woman. Then I heard that Nicole Richie had stomach surgery of some kind and it went bad. I liked her much better when she looked like a young woman rather than someone in a concentration camp. I don't understand how we are getting so mixed up. Sorry for sounding off on the soap box, but you hit one of my buttons!

i ought to like some examples the position replace has somewhat exceeded off from interior a rustic. there ought to correctly be some, yet they're oftentimes a reaction to help from outdoors. Even the fall of a few minor soviet republics in elementary words exceeded off because the régime replaced into moribund and a variety of of different surrounding international locations had already replaced. The Islamic international is compared to this. Oppression is kept afloat with the help of stealthy cultural conditioning. The tribal 'cultural norms' subsumed into Islam should not be secure with techniques from so-suggested as 'non secular freedom'; this is disingenuous to even call it that. Cultural relativism causes human beings to tutor an unwitting blind eye because they're petrified of admitting a troublesome fact: Islam gained't stop its deeply-rooted mediaeval techniques without outdoors impact and a flush of ideas which will oppose it.

YES and NO.....
I think the media could do good things by portraying HEALTHY bodies.. but instead they tend to show modeling programs, model pictures... etc of people are they continue to call over weight.. who are blatantly not over weight... its just the fashion industries warp sense of the way they think we should look.... they should show more pictures of healthy people of any size and shape... it is these people who we should be envying.. the media already prove the power that they have... but its not them making your mind up.. it is the girl or boy next to you.. judging themselves and you.... then someone for example with a larger frame trying to fit in to something designed for someone smaller.. and that make you feel like there is something wrong..but there isn't its just not designed for you...
I think if you can get up and run around without passing out or having a heart attack then you are ok... just bring the designers so that you can make yourself feel good.

The media does call a lot of attention to weight....and some of it may be targeted incorrectly, but the fact is that the majority of Americans are overweight. The media needs to adjust their sights and focus on those women who are actually obese, not women you are at a healthy weight with an inperceivable body flaw.
On that same focus, I'm sick of seeing obese parents bringing their obese child to eat fast-food. They should be charged with child-abuse.
Ta!

I think the media is wrongly influencing alot of people. I think young womens submission to certain ways of thinking is rolling back everything the womens movement accomplished. For example 50 cents latest cd pretty much only says "ill let you give me oral sex" over and over. Yet girls seem to think it is sooo cool.
