Is fighting acceptable?why or why not?

In some countries fighting is a way of life but I think it only acceptable for self defense.

I have done it lots but it was either me or the other guy so I chose me.

under certain circumstances. I could never fault someone who defended themselves- but I'd never praise a bully.
anything is acceptable in the right situation
