Currently, no. But I was in the past. I married my neighbor because I had gotten quite ill and didn't have medical insurance. It was his idea, not mine. Once I had had treatment we went our seperate ways. Nobody in my family knows, I don't think it's really any of their business.

Maybe your cousin did it because he/she thought that the family would not approve of who he/she married. Or maybe they didn't want to make a big freakin deal about it. Some people don't need to invite everybody they know, and everybody that their friends know and relatives that haven't seen them since they were baptised to make a commitment to each other.

I will TOTALLY be going to the justice of the peace when I get married. I can't stand half of the people I'm related to and I have to see them on a weekly basis, I certainly don't think they need to ruin my wedding.

If I tell it would not be a secret anymore. It happens a lot when people live together for a long time and then decide to get married but want to keep it simple so they do it and not tell anyone.

No, i'm publicly married...

:)

And i'm sure it happens because of the intensity of the moment and the idea of forever is quite lovely to some.
