I could maybe help you more if I knew some of the lyrics... but if you hear it again, listen out for a couple of lines in the lyrics... then go to google, and type "lyrics, *some of the lyrics you heard*"... hopefully it should bring you to your song!

the only song ive heard that might sound like u2 with heavy drums might be 30/30-150 by stone sour

The new song with Greenday has alot of drumming in it. Might be called something about saints. Not 100% sure though

Maybe some more details. Maybe you should call "local college radio station" and ask them. Or maybe it is U2. Or maybe you have bad taste in music.
