There are good points and bad points to it. The good is obviously the fact that children are exposed to diverse cultures and students are not streamed into certain schools that may or may not have money based on the income of the area . The downside is the bussing issue, most studies show that students who go to school closer to home have more parent involvement in their schools and better grades. There is the issue of the time spent in travel as well as the ecological and education cost that could be better spent on textbooks and technology. The money school districts that bus pay could be building better schools or establishing smaller student teacher ratios that enhance learning.

No, let things work themselves out. Government should have no part with race, that is racism. If the school represents the community that is around it, that is great, no matter if certain racist quotas are met. In the name of diversity these kids are having to ride busses 90 minutes to school and leaving their friends behind. That is not a good thing

I have heard this all of my life and I do agree that blacks and whites should go to school together. But, I do not agree on busing kids all over the place. Let the kids go to neighborhood schools. There are little kids that get out of school that face a two hour bus ride to get home and by then those poor kids are too tired to do anything.

Thats just making the problem more pronounced. The only way to stop racism is to stop pointing it out. If we say oh we need 5 more chinese kids to make it equal you're just noticing people based on their race. To create a completely equal society we need to stop recognizing different races all together and recognize the human race as one.

Let's ask the kids getting up at five in the morning what they think. It's insane.
That ruling came directly from the court of common sense.

No, forcing races to be together only makes any problems that exist worse. It has to happen naturally by people getting over their own ignorance.

I HELLBENT am not in favor of social engineering. People will gravitate to the places they want to live and the area schools they want to attend.

eventually using racial balancing you will step on someone's civil rights as they are rejected admission because they are not the right race.
