I know she spared shinji and Asuka, presumably so that they could repopulate the planet with human beings, but does she actually die? Or does she simply ascend to a higher plane? Like a manmade goddess or something? She did seem pretty much all powerful after she fused with Lilith. Please give honest answers with swears or crude jokes. Thankyou, the ending has bugged me for years.

Are you Shinji and Asuka repopulated the planet. I thought Shinji choked Asuka? Rei I think she died too. Not sure on those two things.
