I agree with all of the above...
except:
Woody Allen never played JB, he played his Nephew/enemy named Dr.Noah in the JB spoof Casino Royale in the 60's.
Many thought David Niven was to play the official JB in the first movie, but they chose an unknown working class scottish model/actor name Sean Connery and the rest is history.
The movies are listed so I wont do that...but want to say that On her Majesty's Secret Service is the best, its music was terrific and the chords/melody were used by Duran Duran for the theme of Roger The Fab Moores A view to a Kill.
This On her Majestys Secret service also is where JB falls in Love and gets married....i havent seen the new Casino Royale but they say this is where JB falls in love for the first time..so not sure whats the full story here and with the Bourne Identity taking the spy/thriller to a new level, they needed I believe a more younger and roguish actor that could fight more at close combat rather than with simple guns and gadgets as the JB of the old...times change hey

Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, David Niven, Joanna Pettet, Daliah Lavi, Woody Allen, and Terence Cooper ALL played James Bond in the 1967 version of Casino Royale (David Niven played a retired Bond who trained up several replacement James Bonds).
Bob Holness (of Blockbusters) played Bond on the radio.
There have been many others on TV shows and on stage too.
So 6 (or 13 counting the 67 Casino Royale) film Bonds plus the rest.

No one has mentioned Barry Nelson, who played an American James Bond on CBS-TV's Casino Royale in 1954. He was the first ever filmed Bond.
