Just want to say that printer cartridges must be one of the biggest rip-offs of all time. They are grossly over-priced and this is how a lot of printer companies make their money. Lexmark must be one of the worst offenders - they offer cheap printers, but then they try to con you into replacing the cartridge long before you need to.

Sorry to say but refilling ink cartridges is always a gamble sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I agree ink cartridges are very expensive. Have you tried using ink cartridges from Staples? Supposedly, their own ink cartridges are compatiable with Lexmark, HP and many other printer brands. The prices are very competitive. I was at the cashier buying a Lexmark ink cartridge when I notice the ad. I plan on trying it after this cartridge runs out.

if you moisten a piece of kitchen roll then place the ink cartridge with the pin heads touching the damp kitchen roll and leave it for a couple of hours it should start working. if the cartridge has been left dry along time you may need to leave it longer.
