The following songs are winter songs and make no reference to Christmas, and could be played from the first day of winter (or from the first snowfall) until the first day of spring. But radio stations only play them along with Christmas music. Can you think of any others? Jingle Bells, Jingle Bell Rock, Sleigh Ride, Winter Wonderland, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Marshmallow World, Frosty the Snowman, (Here Comes) Suzy Snowflake, Toyland, March of the Toys..................

Did you folks understand my question and comments? The songs I listed are songs about winter, and do not refer to Christmas, and they are decent songs, and can be played occasionally from Dec. 22 until March 21, (especially on oldies stations) and be correct. Unfortunately the radio stations treat them as "Christmas" songs and only play them during the "holiday" period along with the Christmas carols, etc.

You are definitely an out of the box thinker!!! You have a valid point though...I suppose it builds up more anticipation for the holiday season and puts everybody in the holiday spirit. It may not have the kind of effect if it was played more...

I don't know. I guess it only feels right to most people to play it during the winter. I personally love "winter" songs year round. I'll put on a "Christmas" CD in a heartbeat. I just love the feeling that overcomes me when I hear it.

Because when played every year, in homes, on radios, on TV programs, in holiday movies...on Christmas Tree Ornaments...musical lights (indoor and out)...from open windows in neighbor's houses who dunno how the volume control works...

...they want to give us SOME sanity.

Oh yea. And in stores while shopping.

Isn't winter stressful enough without feeling like slaying the horse instead of riding in the sleigh? >.<

...oh yea. And school choirs and plays.

You be born in a cold desert with no bed for your head and swaddling clothes around you at as brand new infant. See how that feels. I call that winter. Play it again Sam......
