I am taking a intro. to psych class so this isn't a really big deal, but of course I have no ideas on what to write on. It is a 3 page reflection paper with some of my views incorporated in it. Please don't just say, choose what interests you... I am looking for other peoples opinions on what they would want to see. Thanks.

Are Psychopaths Made Or Born?

There is much interesting debate over this topic. Behind almost all mental illness is a deep rooted history of abuse or trauma. However, many psychopaths appear to have experienced no trauma and come from the most loving homes.

It is a concise topic that will fit nicely in 3 pages. Psych professors love a great discussion paragraph, which this topic most definitely provides. You could use a similar outline to this, but moreover, tailor your paper as you see fit.

Intro: What is your paper about...Are psychopaths born or made?
Paragraph 1: Overview of debate
Paragraph 2: They are born
Paragraph 3: They are made
Paragraph 4: Your thoughts...apply your psych knowledge here
Paragraph 5: Further research
Discussion: Discuss with the reader future advancements (or how the inability to come to a consensus inhibits these advancements) and how they will influence the field of Psychology.
Conclusion: Summarize the above paragraphs to give the reader closure. You just spoke about psychopaths for goodness sake. :-)

I like to get into the recessess of peoples minds....a very thought provoking topic that is a little unusual would peak a lot of peoples interest and shows that you can think outside the square you are living in. The topic that gets a lot of people thinking is "Morality" Morality is quoted as a word...a noun, as if it is something we must all posess.in the same way. But if you look at people all through the ages, what they do, and what other people consider moral may be two different things. Look at Hitler for example, he thought he was a moral man, and in his mind he was a moral man. From my way of thinking he was totally immoral, but he thought he was doing society a favour by creating the perfect race, and to create a perfect race lots of experiments needed to be done. So really morality is only a frame of mind and should not be quoted as if it is something we all must possess in exactly the same way. There are a lot more examples of this throughout history and really all you need is an inquisitive mind. Lecturers like to see individual thoughts, and it is a topic you really dont have to quote facts and figures. You just need a good mind and put your point of view across clearly. It is a very subjective topic actually and will create a lot of thinking.

Hope you do well and wow their socks off them.

The effects an unhealthy marriage and/or divorce have on children.

Im now 25, but coming from a home where all i heard was screaming and swearing it had a huge impact on my performance in school & my attitude as a whole. Too many people stay together "for the kids" when really their negative energy & behavior towards the other parent significantly effects the children, in a bad way whether they realize it or not!

Sigmund Schlomo Freud is always a good topic, since he is the father of psychoanlysis..Look up his history from his writings. Freud's writings were not available until 2000 and most people don't know about it. I guarantee you that you will have enough for more than 3 pages, in no time flat.

12 step programs. Oedipus/Electra complexes. I did a paper once where I gave my class a bunch of false statistics and then took a poll to see how gullible they were. That was cool.
