Shoes are unhealthy to begin with. Quit wearing them. I'll bet you've got back problems too. Throw away your shoes! (yes, this is a serious post)

Since boots are made on a form, just like clothing is designed, not all of them are made to fit every foot. You would have to pay BIG money for custom taylored boots. I am a heeled boot lover. BLACK LEATHER ONLY! When I first get a pair of boots they never fit quite right. I will normally get them fairly wet with a spray bottle of water, but not soaking. The whole boot, inside and out, upper and lower (including soles). Then, even if it's uncomfortable, wear them until they dry. This may mean wearing them at night while sleeping. You may have to repeat this process once more for the very "broken in" feeling of comfort. The aforementioned trick should reduce break-in time to about a week. Hang in there. Your boots will become your faves as they will make you feel like your feet are receiving a big hug every time you slip them on! Enjoy.

Was there a "slouch fold" or crease in the leather that caused the rubbing? Or, was there a seam? Maybe you can have the shaft softened around the area that rubbed your ankles. I have rubbing points on my boots from a slight "slouch fold" in the leather -- I am just wearing thicker socks and hoping for the "break in" period to be over. Another thing you may want to consider is, during the "break in" period (when the leather is supposed to soften and mold to your feet shape), try covering the rub point, in the boots (or on your ankles) with something like moleskin. Something else to consider is the shaft size. Is it too tight? Depending upon the quality of the leather, you should be able to stretch it out a bit to avoid the rub point. I would also try contacting the boot-seller. You can always ship them back. Maybe this pair is flawed, or they may have a local retailer that could help you treat, stretch or soften your boots.

I suspect the soles of the boot may be a bit stiff. I suggest you work the soles where the ball of your feet sit and flex it back and forth.
The reason the boots are slipping at the heal is that the sole of the boot isn't flexing with your foot and which causes your heal to rise and fall with in the boot. Thus the blisters.
When you fit a pair of boots, you need to make sure that the boot fits at the length, across the middle of the foot and across the top of the foot. This last fitting helps reduce the heal slipping.
Hope this helps and good luck!

From where they are wearing on your heal.. NO.. they can not be repaired(as you call it) to fit better.. I do not know what type of socks you had on when you tried them on at the store but that might make a difference.. You should wear those things with a heavier sock and not a DRESS-type sock... I always get my boots(when I did buy them) a 1/2 size larger.... BUT.. It was the store's fault for not seeing into this and ensuring that you had the right size UNLESS YOU DEMANDED ONLY that particular size

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.
So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.
Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.
A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.
Heal your ankle fully & fast?

Whenever you et new cowboy boots they will do this. You just have to keep wearing them and they will get broke in. They will fit to form your feet. If you get them wet and wear them it will speed up the process.
