The doctor said I might, but how much is normal? And I also noticed a little small stringy like clotting. I haven't had to wear a pad just panty liner that was filled, but mostly with brownish pink bleeding. Is this normal to have???? He also said my cervix was "soft", but closed. Is this a good thing at 36wks??? Thanks 1st pregnancy!

Oh man I have asked about 3?'s on this today.LOL. I just had my 1st exam as well and I am 37weeks 1-2cm and 60%effaced. I am having some bleeding too and that is normal. I know it is a good thing if your cervix is soft it means some progress. I never got checked at 36 weeks so I don't know how much I progressed in a week. Have you been having stomach pains since the exam?? Go to my?'s and answer meif you have please, I have been in pain since she checked me and I'd like to know if its normal. Thanks! Good luck also I know you must be getting impatient as well.

nicely, at 39 weeks ( i'm now 40-one- a week late) I had an inner examination, and that i grow to be bleeding undesirable formerly i even left the scientific institution, i bleed for 2 days. My medical doctors werent fascinated by it, it wasnt particularly heavy, yet no longer too mild the two. It grow to be only my bloody tutor. Thats probable whats happening with you. Your cervix is this way of comfortable section, the slightest touch could make you bleed. in case you expeiernce era like bleeding bypass to the scientific institution asap, or in case you spot blood clots greater than quarter length. desire this facilitates:)

More than just a couple spots could be placenta previa. That's where the placenta is blocking the cervix and can bleed a bit. If your doctor hasn't said you have this (ultrasound should show it) then a couple of spots are okay. If it's really some bleeding, get it checked out immediately. Placenta previa can turn serious real fast.

It sounds a little bit like bloody show, or your mucus plug. Your cervix will soften the closer you get, that is how it prepares to dilate. I would call your dr/nurse advice line and explain, they may have you come back in to check you, or they will tell you not to worry. Are you having any type of contractions?

Did he strip you membranes? This is when they actually use their fingers and massage the cervix to try to start labor. This hurts like h*** but it helps some women. If not I would call and maybe get check out at the maternity department at your local hospital. I hope everything is okay, but I would call and talk to another doc and see what they had to say or just go get checked!

i would call the doctor and tell them what you told us and see what he think that you should do. make sure you talk to the doctor not the lady at the desk. Your cervix sounds just where its supposed to be. good luck and call the doctor right away.
