to get caught up in each moment, ignoring the future but enjoying the present, or to allow life to be 'what's happening while you're busy making other plans'?

the present will always bring you to future, so why worry about the future when there's so much to enjoy right here, right now.

If you ignore the future your enjoyment of the moment will only last until you are homeless and shivering under a bridge or worse.

If you plan for the future and never take the time to live in the moment you will end up looking back on your life regretting the things you never took the time to enjoy.

The past is for learning from.
The future is to be planned for.
The present moment is where you live your life.

It depends on what the future holds. I can honesly say I do both. I get caught up in the little moments in life, but I make future plans also.

Obviously some combination of the two is what we should be shooting for. But to directly answer your question, I think the former is the better of the two.
