49.87 gallons. convert everything to inches, multiply, and divide by 231. So this is what you would have. 5 x 48 x 48 =11520 now take 11520 and divide it by 231. So you will now have 11520 divided by 231=49.870129 Rounded off 49.87 There are other ways to figure it but this is one of them. This only works for something square, a cylinder or other shaped objects you would need to apply a different formula.
