This is my fast laptop that im wanting to take the processor out of and put in my old and slow computer the laptop is a Mobile Intel(R) Celeron(R) 2.00 ghz and the Desktop Processor is a Intel(R) Celeron(TM) 1.2 ghz is this possible to do before i try and mess them up please help would really like my desktop faster. PLEASE HELP!

Don't bother....they use different voltages. Also, the notebook mobile CPU may be soldered to the board.

Celeron chips are very inexpensive .... just buy one (or better yet buy a P4 CPU for your desktop. Make sure it has socket 478.

It all depends. Not all processors fit in just any motherboard. Most likely it will not work for you because you are trying to take something that was made specifically for a laptop into a desktop. Then pins on them are going to be different, therefore, this swaping around might just ruin both of your cpus and then you are just going to be stuck and having to buy 2 new processors!

That will not work. Laptops and desktops use a completely different socket type, not to mention power.

No you would not be able to do this, laptops and desktops use differnt chipsets making this nearly imposible.
