In answer to the first answerer - Bath is in England, and the Wii launch date is 8th December, this friday.
And in answer to the actual question, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. I don't recall a console launch where everyone got their's on the release day. Personally I'm waiting til January, when I'll have the spare change to afford one, and I expect by then that there'll be plenty to walk into a shop and pick one up.
I do know however that Gamestation (as of friday just past) were still taking pre-orders, and were guaranteeing that everyone who pre-orders will have one before xmas. I spoke to the manager and he was apparently told to keep selling pre-orders. So, there's hope for you.

I worked for Comet for 21/2 years as a senior warehouseman and if you have pre-ordered then you are going to get it, yes.
These things come from a distribution centre in Corby and we were pre-informed of our stock allocations weeks in advance. After confirmation of these they become order available and remain so until the last is sold. Last year the x-box 360 sold out in 3 days, and my job at one of the stores was to take the incoming, label them up for the people concerned and place them in a secure area where the dopey sales staff couldn't get at them to flog them. I don't know who the warehouseman in Bath is but if he's switched on he'll do the same.
You may not get it on the launch day if Corby have not received their supplies in good time from the manufacturer. But you will get it shortly after.

If comet said to you, or at least advertised in store for launch day delivery, then hopefully yes, you will. But otherwise it might be late due to lots of people wanting one

i don't think so, i was called by gamestation today and they said i was definitely not going to get 4 the launch date( fri 8).
But it will definitely be available for Christmas.
i am looking forward to Zelda tw and i can hardly stand the anticipation.
