I am a 29 yr old single mom that has made some poor choices this year. I have been addicted to meth for the past 2 years. I was convicted of forgery back in march of this year and swore i would get my life together and break my addiction. No matter how hard i tried i couldnt stop. Then i was arrested again in July for the SAME crime. i decided then i needed to get help. The judge let me out of jail to go to a treatment center while waiting to be sentenced. I graduated from the intensive treatment after 8 weeks and the judge let me move into a half way house. Then i went on to get a job as a manager at a local cellular phone comany. I am active in self help groups and AA/NA meeting daily. I am also active in my childrens lives. Everything is getting back to the way things were before i became addicted. I have been sober for 6 months. I am going in front of the judge Do you think i convince the judge that i am ready to live a life free of crime?

I think that your recent improvements should help your cause. I don't think that your words will hold too much weight at this point because of your history but if the judge feels good about the change you made you should be all set.

Judges have heard and seen everything. A lot depends on the judge's experience with former addicts. It would help you if the experience has been positive.

Nonetheless I wish you the best and admire your honesty & desire to imporve yourself.

Good Luck

Well lets put it like this good job on cleaning up,

If you are able to besway the judge if there is a next time that will be jail time.

I am so sorry this has happened to you it seems many are on drugs not the few but the many. It is a problem that is easy to see but hard to get out of. Addiction can get you killed in many forms and it can also rob you of your family, house, job friends and puts you in an enviroment that no one cares for you, a voilent part of the system.

What you have said moved me but it may not move the Judge do HOWEVER MAKE YOUR COURT DATE or things will be far worse for you.

Also people who are trying to give you or sell you drugs are not your friends for they have helped you partially ruin your life.

I pray you are. What you wrote was very similar what my adopted daughter went through. She made it and has a 1 year old daughter and going to school to become a drug counselor. Pray and YOU can MAKE it. What bother me tho most is my daughter is having trouble finding work as most employers are DOWN on felonies. I feel if proven they should be able to get a chance. My very best to YOU and Happy Holidays. YES YOU HAVE A CHANCE Answer the JUDGE yes or no YOUR HONOR and LOOK INTO HIS OR HER EYES>

I think judges understand that the choices made during our addictions are not represenative to who we are as sober individuals. Be willing to do whatever programs the judge may present and I think you may come out ok. Good luck to you.

Sounds good to me, but the judge might want a little more probationary time in there just to make sure before completely letting you go.

You are on the right track but one thing you are missing is the Lord. Find yourself a good church and get involved there also. Take the kids with you and give yourself to Jesus and never look back.

I think the fact that you've been clean for 6 months is a really good sign. Best of luck to you.

If you are convince that you are ready, I think you will have no trouble showing that to the judge.

Best of luck to you and congratulations on pulling your life together. Your children need you!

You have improved a bit. Tell it as you are describing it here. Be honest and direct. It will likely result on probation.

as long as you are doing what you need to do to stay drug free I think your chances of staying out of jail are excellent. God bless you and good luck.
