I was wrongfully put in the mental hospital for 2 weeks by my homeless shelter because another resident lied on me about something. Also, the police officers restrained me & put me in tight handcuffs & laughed @ me, & everyone around was laughing @ me & calling me crazy, but I didn't do anything. I didn't lose control until they cuffed me for no reason because that HURTS. Do I have a right to sue the staff or the organization-or neither? Why or why not? One lady said I can't sue because they're granting me housing, but all my other peers are telling me that I MUST sue.

...First I will address the RETARDS that responded with a dis...then I will answer your question..O.K.K.K..people don't always go to a shelter to free load and not work because in a shelter they push you to get a job and save up till you are ready to make it on your own, and if freeloading was the case why aren't all the homeless and drug addicts in a shelter DUH...it's not any thing like you could imagine there are a lot of rules and restrictions in order to stay at a shelter and that is if you can even get accepted to get in one..Families and this type of situation is; it's really not that funny LOOSERS...As for you my dear you have no case, you can try but being left at the institute for 2 weeks will not help you.

We don't know enough about what happened to be able to help you with this but I do know that if the mental hospital kept you for two weeks, then they had a good reason to do so. Give legal aid a call and they can help you to see if you have a case.

Well most likely with the messed up idiot lawyers you can sue and win. Just like how the guy breaks into the womans house falls on a knife sues and wins.

Where are you getting access to a computer?

These people are helping you, and you want to sue because you don't think you were treated well? If you want to be in charge of your own life, get a job and pay your own way like the rest of us. Until then, you should be grateful that you're not living in the street.

Stop leeching off of society, and you won't be so angry at the world.

be happy that you had somewhere to stay and you were fed for those two weeks... you didnt have to watch your back for those two weeks... i would get over it and try to get my life back on track instead of wasting my time with silly things like that. your worried about people laughing at your and calling you crazy?? weird...

if you can afford to post here, why were you in a homeless shelter? But, yeah, go ahead and sue, then when they close down the shelter all you lazy loafer losers can freeze outside.
