Our closest living ape relative, the chimpanzee, has white skin. People indigenous to equatorial regions like Africa would evolve darker skin to protect against the Sun and people farther North, like Europe would develop lighter skin to prevent rickets.

the original people on this planet were human....race or color was not a defining characteristic...nor should it ever be...at the point when they became people they were all the same hue...it would have taken many centuries for skin pigmentation changes to propagate through the species

Yes black people were the first people to walk this earth. Scientist have tried and tried but all the evidence is overwhelming that the first people to walk this earth were indeed black people. This first people to walk this earth were in Africa. I wonder if they are ever going to admit that Jesus is black. How in the hell can you be white, with blond hair, and blue eyes, but were born in AFRICA. Will the European every stop this madness.

i actuall watch something about this the other night on discovery channel. when we were homoerctus we started migrating all over the world and color and skull features facial features all of that kind of stuff adapted to survive in the area they lived. so no and yes we are all from monkeys which also varied in color.

Agree with some of the above answers. Others are just stupid.
Anyway... my answer is: maybe.

They were probably brown or so, not sure how dark, but probably like those in the middle east/north africa now anyway.

People are the original people they all were of a uniform skin color originally, and be careful to avoid allowing questions to be used as fuel for bigots.

When you say "original" do you mean the slowest to evolve?
If that is your question than yes blacks are the "original" people...

Yes but they were much more hairy and drug they knuckles. Often I believe they would drag their wives by the head of the hair to they caves.
