I've heard some rumors about the person who officiated my wedding. It's probably nothing but I'd like to verify that my marriage is legal. I live in Ohio how do I do this?

Check with your local county clerk's office. Your marriage license should be on file there, and will show the name and title of the person who performed the ceremony. Then, you can check out the credentials of the person who performed the wedding. I must say though, it's simple to get authority to perform weddings. I got mine on line, in 24 hours.

Write to The Ohio Department of Health which houses abstracts of marriages that occurred in Ohio from September 7, 1949 to the present. Abstracts are brief forms that list the original marriage licenses’ basic information. An abstract is not a marriage license. The Ohio Vital Statistics Office does not have marriage licenses on file. Please contact your County Probate Court where the marriage license was issued for a copy.

The clerk of courts office should have a record of your marriage certificate. Go check it out. It could be online.
