Santa Claus is traditionally represented in a red cloak with white fur trimmings, a reference to St Nicholas, who reputably performed his charitable acts dressed in his red bishop's robes.

Santa Clause is not red in all countries. It did not come from Coca Cola. The first time he was described as jolly with a belly that shook like a bowl full of jelly and dressed in red was in the poem The Night Before Christmas.

The elves used the left over paint from the red wagons to paint Santa a red suit. Thats what mama said. Mama also said for me not to touch the bubes.

why don't you wonder about something that will have more meaning to your life instead of a myth? who cares really, if he's red, purple or green - it's a myth that deflects the real meaning of Christ-mas. :)
