SOAD has a just a much different way of making music
Slipknot is a bit more of the moshing stuff and screaming
i'd choose Slipknot over SOAD just because i didn't like SOAD's last 2 albums very much.
but honestly in my opinion you should open up to more than just this mainstream stuff.... some stuff you don't see on mtv and all that other crap is also pretty damn good... unless you already do

Definitely System of a Down. Slipknot is good, but like someone else said, they do a lot of screaming (and there's nothing wrong with that). System of a Down's lyrics are better and they seem to always have a good/interesting way of getting their points across. They're so unique and have a style of their own.

Slllliiiiiiiippppppppkkkkkknnnnnoooooooootttttttttt well they are my flavour of the month coz they are releasing the new DVD today called Voliminal. But S.O.A.D have long been a favorite of mine. Last 2 albums were a bit of a disappointment. Steal This Album would have to be their best effort. Slipknot just keep on pumping it out though the music they create makes me want to bang my head against a wall.

Slipknot for me is almost like trance mixed with heavy metal and system of a down is like shouting soft metal music so none of them really but if i had to choose i would say SYSTEM OF A DOWN

HOW CAN YOU EVEN ASK THAT?! Slipknot are just pop metal...if that makes sense.
They have 0 meaning to their songs.
SOAD have awsome lyrics. Malakian has an awsome voice. There harmonisation is better than ANY church choir.
