I think the more moderate the candidate, the better their chances will be. The people I have talked with seem to be looking for someone with 'conservatively moderate' ideals. It will be interesting to watch as the events unfold leading up to each convention, though...

Far right, that's death in the next election. A moderate or true conservative will be much better suited and appealing to the majority of Americans. If the President doesn't change his approach to things he is going to drag the whole republican party down so they don't stand a chance next election.

Well I doubt that would be the case, as it seems most are now trying to step away from the Christian Right and all that and return to economic conservatism, moreso than social conservatism, but I could be wrong. I think the guy from Kansas doesn't really stand a chance...

just food for thought. Denmark was the most liberal and tolerant country in the world. a renowned movie make named van goph made a movie about Islam and was stabbed in the heart throat cut and shot in the head with a note left on him saying Islam will rule this country and you will all subscribe. Allah is great. govt did nothing.
a brand new extreme conservative group has taken hold of 30 % of congress and is passing law after law against all of Islam. So if you think its not possible. you are misinformed.

I must say that despite the fact that he is NOT moderate, Guliani (may be spelling this wrong) may actually get the vote - he has generated a whole lot of buzz. Or perhaps I'm just hopeful...I really like Guiliani...
I like a few Dem possiblities, too, though...

And they have to promise more tax cuts to
No one can be President now without promising something he cant really deliver or is actually bad for the country. Like Bush's tax cuts, the money wasn't there after Bush made the surplus disappear so it has to be borrowed.

I don't know who they'll run, but they'll need to run a moderate if they have a chance of winning.
