sure this helps but, it also depends what you do b/f you hire them. Like do a background check and you could have your own set of questions you make up yourself for them to answer and Ref. checks helps too. With all these here i mentioned i think it is possiable to find an Alice like Brady Bunch had! Also if you added a bonus like work folk do ... like if a year employment reward them with money, a trip, or jewlery! Just another idea to keep them honest and a pleasurable employer as well!

I am a housekeeper for two families, both well known.
I would be greatly insulted if I was being filmed, I am honest and loyal, and respectful of others property, you should ask your friends word of mouth, or put an add out, do interviews, and ask for references.
If something seems not right, then that person should not be in your home.
, no matter the cost. Theyre are many woman who do this for a living who are very good,
or you could use a company and they are insured.

Boy that is an interesting question!! I hired a hk recommended by someone I worked with. The woman worked as a team and I met them and they told me how good a job they would do. The day we met, one of them had a peculiar interest in looking at my books and belongings and commenting on them. That made me uneasy.
They cleaned great the 1st time but after that, the work was shoddy. When I called them on it, they got very very nasty to me and had no interest in making it right as they has said they would if there was any problem.
I haven't hired a hk since and feel that a video camera or security camera in each room would be the only way I would do it.

It would be a big insult to me if I found out I was being recorded by a security camera. I have cleaned houses for 4yrs. & I am loyal & respect the property of others just as I would want mine respected. You are in there to clean someones house and trust me thats a job. I bring my own lunch w/a drink. Even though I have some ladies that offer me lunch, I feel that's not right. Us house cleaners are there to get our job done, so we can spend the evening w/our families.

I cleaned houses for 14 yrs. Never took anything but the dirt! Use an individual instead of a company. Working for yourself, you need to do a better job to keep yourself working! They will be more apt to do it the way you want it done and will more than likley do a better job for you. Try leaving loose change or a buck or two around, if it's there when you get back, you can probably relax. Ask your friends who they use. I used to get lots of business by word of mouth. Good Luck! Remember, housework is hard work!

You can't trust anyone these day. Cameras are a necessity, especially when the housekeeper will be in your home!
