Hiya, Dont panic!!! I had this with all three of my babies and I went on to have three perfect pregnancies and three perfect babies, it hurts like hell and you feel like you are losing the baby!! Apparently its to do with your wifes uterus expanding and moving up, this is what I was told anyway! It started about 6 weeks and only lasted a couple of days, it got worse before it got better, you do worry like mad, you worry all through pregnancy, every ache and pain causes worry but tell your wife its all because her insides are all moving around to make room for the growing baby! If you are still worried give your Doc a ring. I dont think a midwife will get involved this early in pregnancy! Good luck and loadsa love to you and your wife, babs will be here in no time!! Merry Christmas xxx

She should call NHS Direct and/or see a doctor as soon as possible. During my second pregnancy I had spotting and cramps from 5 weeks and I lost the baby at 10 weeks. Your doctor should send you for an early scan to check that the babys heart is beating and that you don't have an ectopic pregnancy.

I say see a dr as soon as possible. I had a miscarriage in Sept and that is how mine started out. I had a little spotting followed by terrible cramps. I went to the doctor a couple days later to confirm that all was ok, and the next day I had heavy bleeding and miscarried. Do not stress it, but see a doctor to confirm all is OK! I wish you the best!

Spotting in pregnancy can be common as long as it's not to much and too often, but the cramps don't seem to be normally but I would go contact your doctor and get some test done just to be on the safe side.

The cramping is the scary part! She should go to the doc ASAP. Some spotting is normal but intense cramping is not!

well only being 6 weeks is to early to tell. If cramps get bad, then folowed by bright bleeding then it will most of the time end in miscarrage. Sorry to say, but that is the way it happens.

first element, attempt to no longer panic, that basically makes issues worse. 2d, every time you bleed/spot/undesirable cramps, you may call your checklist if no longer something to your individual peace of innovations. that's what he's there for. in case you're by danger having a miscarriage there is fairly no longer something that is executed, it is your physique's way of telling you that some thing became into incorrect. it is not peculiar yet you do could see a checklist asap. i wish each thing works out for you. stable luck.

i would be concerned about the cramping. some spotting is common but cramping is not good. i'd get to the doctor or maybe the emergency room, depending on which you can get to quickly. have everything checked out. it's better to be safe.

if the blood is brown fear not it could be implantation bleeding if it is red this is a usual warning sign that something isnt right, she should see her gp if its the later, sadly at 6 weeks there would be nothing your gp could do to save the pregnancy. i bled at 5 weeks with my son but it was brown and lasted only 1 day. hope this helps. dont worry, good luck and congratulations xx
