I would if I was the only possibility left. I would never want a family member to need one but they would come before a stranger so I would want to save it just in case. But if I was a rare type and that same rare type needed one I would do it.

Probably not. A family member or close friend-most definately. Even though I'd like to say I would for a stranger, the reality is I probably wouldn't....unless I was like old and had nothing to live for and it was going to save the life of a child or something. Hell, I don't know...

it is to difficult to answer. with my humanistic side i wanna say yep, but this is my kidney and if i would give to a totally stranger, there'd be hard consequences. what if i need sth that he can do and he refuses to do? i cant take my kidney, can i? so hard to answer. on the other hand, i'd feel guilty for letting a human die, while i can help him?

I probably would. My father in law got a new heart donated by a stranger of course this was a dead person. there is a risk of complications --infection, pain, failure, ect. i think i still would do it. i could sacrifice for someone else. it would be the right thing to do

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

Depends on the situation and the profile of the person. If it was someone who was highly abusing drugs and alcohol i wouldnt give them a kidney since they would just abuse it.
